i got a super shipment of music today from mr fedex. partly xmas gifts but mostly music for me. i hadn’t spurge on music in a long time but what the hell, music is one of the few things i enjoy spending money on. what did i get? i got a collaboration between sigur ros and hilmar hilmarsson, mogwai’s rock on, gram parsons anthology (it’s a gift but he sounds interesting), coldplay and waking life soundtrack. mogwai and sigur ros collabaration cd is obvious winners within first listen but the others shall need some growth. coldplay definitely […]

oh man, i am listening to the latest laika album and some of the songs are so them fucking sexy. it’s definitely the female vocalist swoonging against tender late night beats that make them one of the hidden gems in my music collection. they were a KALX discovery and i am so glad they’re still making music. i swear i don’t know how the bands i really like but have such a miniscule following continue to make music. i guess that’s what true artist do, they express themselves whether one person is listening to them or 100. i am listening to the new god speed cd that orangex gave me and it’s done right super yummy in the tummy. godspeed you black emperor was another band that my musical master introduced me a while back. it’s mostly instrumentiontal stuff but it simply rocks on a epic level. the songs tend to be very long and the energy these canadians(!) build up is almost over the top on a restraining sorta way. i’ve seen them once and the show just blew me away. i am not easily blown away but the intensely of climaxes and […]
