online dating

so since janurary, i’ve given the online dating thing a serious effort. it’s been an interesting experiment to say the least. on paper, it would seem like such an ‘easy’ thing given the you just just on your computer and filter out all the the stuff that don’t interest you and then you just go after the interesting one. but the sad reality is that i filter out 98% of the profiles and the ones i am interested in, i am part of that 98% that gets filter out. i read an interesting article on cnn, aptly […]

the victory of habit

so i have to celebrate a small victory. one of my goals was meditating for 100 days straight and i passed a major milestone last friday. although i’ve been trying to have the mediation practice in the morning, that hasn’t been going too way because i still stay up too late. anyway, i went out drinking last friday and coming back at 1am. i shaved my head and mediated. and i didn’t brush my teeth. only 35 more days to reaching the goal but i am pretty sure i am going to go way beyond the goal. sight seeing practice

got to exercise my power of the executive chair and played hooky without feeling any guilt. yeah, it’s a good start when i play that card. had interesting conversations and revisited old grounds for the first time with the first daughter. i need more days like this. being outside, relaxing, chatting, being present, playing with the sidekick, soaking in the fall like warmth, finishing it all off with most excellent meal in the mission with 5 different kind of oysters. jackpot.

i sometimes laugh when she throws her little fits. 99% of the time it doesn’t faze me a bit and 1% my hindsight goes in red alert. today and any other day, she just needs daddy’s fully present attention. in that perfect moment heaven and earth come together like hate spitting in each other’s mouth.
