delhi is either a good place to land or a bad place depending on how fast you want to bump into the real india. good because it’s going to reset your perception and bad because you’re not ready for it. almost instantly i knew i wanted to get out as fast possible. of all the craziness that attacks your senses, it is the one of constant honking from the thousands of tuk tuks in tight alleys was the one that got to me right away.
i landed at 4am and i had arrange for a pick up from the hotel that i was staying at. so as i am walking out of the airport i see hundreds of people holding signs for the recently imported. of course, an adventure starts when something goes not as planned like me not finding my pick up driver! after that, i just the the ISNESS that is delhi take me on for the ride it was suppose to. i didn’t really try not to get taken advantage off. it’s like they know you know then you’re just both playing the game so much more carefree. no hard feelings right. i am sure i would been the same if i had never left on a boat 35 years ago. welcome home to your alternate reality.
