just watched a documentary on the american avant garde artist and he rocks the house. granted i don’t know about the lives of other artists but i am pretty sure man ray is going to be one of my favorites for a while. i think it’s his attitudel, philosophy and process are what i find most appealing. no doubt my ego is probably trying to validate it’s own greatness by association with an artist such as he was. anyway, definitely getting more understanding and ammunication into the life of an aritst and why it is a sacared way of life. but the greatness of his man is summarized best when the interviewer asks Man Ray, ‘what has been his most interesting/rewarding experience in his life?” and he responds, “i think it was woman.” i understand now.

He rocks doesn’t he? First time I saw stuff at SFMOMA I was hooked… it was my first trip to the museum and of course I haven’t seen his stuff in exhibition since (slacker me!)
