i had a very interesting conversation with the crazy lord last night. although i was explicitly told not to talk about the contents of my retreat, i ended spilling the essence of the “secret” learning to the man. luckily, he already knew what the hell i was talking about but he simply referred to it as ‘the void’. in buddhist circles, it’s sometimes referred to as ’emptiness’, ‘rigpa’ or ‘the lumonsity” or even the ‘primodial wisdom’. it would be fruitless for me to explain the concept but it’s largely a non conceptual expererience. But once you’ve experience and RECOGNIZE it’s significant and can return to it at any given time, then you’re on to something very eulsive to 90% of meditators out there. Interestingly, rinpoche said that ‘a lot of people know how to meditate but most of them don’t know how to destory meditation’. In other words, meditation is a concept and to experience the inner essence/emptiness/rigpa you have to destory the concepts leading up to the experience. Naturally, i am oversimplifying much of the theory behind this because again, it’s not worth getting into details. Nonetheless, the lord and i have a bond the runs very deep that will drive the both of us to take our experience to the depths of our soul. actually, after i had the conversation with him, i had realize that he was truly like many of the mad tibeten/indian yogis that have incredible tantric powers. He already discovered the core of tantric buddhism secret all by himself and most people have to be to introduce to it by a master. My relationship with him is beginning to make a lot of sense. At first, i thought he was just a zen kinda of guy but now i suspect his powers are up there with the yogis in India. Ironically, I told him about these siddhus in India that hang out with Mary Jane all the time to reach these higher states of conscious and he realize why he had to return home to India!!
