12 hours later and 2 bad airplane meals and i am in the land of the hobbits. it’s way too early to tell how cool the place can be because i just hung out with the lady and had a yummy breakfast when i landed. so, my trip was supposed to be a surprise but her brother sorta busted up the secret. he picked me up from the port and mention that she had some sort of woman intutition about me coming. and course the lady tells me later that he accidently spilled the beans and was just trying to cover up his tracks with the woman intution shit! anyway, she acted sorta surprise when i woke her up at 6am but i suspected that something was up. she was drilling me the night before when i made some excuse about going to a retreat for a few days and wanted her to send me a list of stuff that she would wanted me to mail to nz before i went on my “retreat”. anyway, it doesn’t really matter that much but i thought about giving her brother the guilt trip by giving him the bottle of macallan i got the airport.
anyway, it’s nice and sunny right now even though it had been raining on and off all day. the weather is probably even funkier than SF in the sense that it flucates pretty wildly on a daily basis. my first reaction to the city and what i’ve read about it on the plane is that it reminds me a bit of vancour BC. pretty clean, plenty of space, tons of trees and beaches. it’s probably better than vancour because the weather here is generally milder, much like the bay area. the lady and i entertain thoughts about having a summer home here and going back and forth between SF. too early to be making those sort of plans but i am definitley open to having a home base near asia.
i like what i’m reading jack. get your ass out of SF…you’ll be happier.

hey, what’s up with refering to me as ‘the lady’?! better than ‘my lady-friend’ tho……..
