i stumble upon a new single malt scotch tonight, a new favorite, no less. after a delious dinner at firecracker, my guest and i made our way to a very chic bar in the mission. we accidently stumble upon a company’s xmas party but what the hell, there was a great sit by the window. at first i simply asked what king of scotch they had and when they gave a menu with an entire section of single malt alone, i knew it was time to try something new. it felt like a little kid wanting to try all these new refine candies and i had already had a particular brand in mind. a very scotch drinker had casually recommended that i should try the Lagavulin last week and so it stood out on the menu list. unfortunately it was the most expensive shot ($9 bucks!) but what the hell, good company deserves great scotch. one sip and i knew i found a new love. previously, glenfiddich was my regular scotch of choice and it will probably still be because the 16 year old Lagvaulin is a bit too good for the day to day dramas. No doubt i should have a bottle in the home at all times but only for real special occasins. like anytime i win a wedding client or something. anyway, enough with my fetish with single malt. it’s funny how my taste has gotten more refine in the last year or so. well, okay, i still love guniness but it makes feel bloated. a small price to pay for such yumminess but single malt is worth it’s price in gold.
